
The College of SBS offers the following Scholarships which are made possible through the generosity of donors, investors, and alumni who are dedicated to education. These scholarships are based on both academic merit and financial need, please be sure to have a current FAFSA on file before completing the online application.
College Scholarships
- Applications are open to majors within the College of SBS.
Louis F. Landon Memorial Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students enrolled full-time in any department in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Arizona. Preference will be given to Arizona residents, incoming freshmen, and students with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Students must demonstrate a need for financial assistance in order to continue their studies.
- Award: Up to $15,000 per year to cover tuition, lab fees, books/ supplies, and room/board. Renewable up to four years (up to $60,000 total)
- Number of Awards: One scholarship awarded at a time.
- Application Available: March 15th through April 5th
David E. & Lucille C. Nutt Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduates enrolled in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Arizona who have attended high school in the state of Arizona for four years and graduated in the top 25% of his or her class. The scholarship may be renewed up to four years if the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average and completes at least 16 units a semester.
- Award: $3000.00 per year, renewable up to four years
- Number of Awards: Multiple awards
- Application Available: March 15th through April 5th
Harriet A. & George W. McGrath Scholarship
- Eligibility: Incoming freshmen enrolled in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Applicants must have had a high scholastic standing in his or her high school class and demonstrate financial need. Student must maintain a 2.0 grade point average in the fall semester to receive spring semester disbursement.
- Award: $1,000.00 per year, not renewable
- Number of Awards: One scholarship awarded each academic year.
- Application Available: March 15th through April 5th
C. Gloria Paul Memorial Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students planning a career in international relations. US citizenship is not required. The Scholarship is available to academically outstanding upper division and graduate students.
- Award: $1000.00 per year, not renewable
- Number of Awards: One scholarship awarded each academic year.
- Application Available: March 15th through April 5th
Magellan Circle Scholarships
- Eligibility: Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student and enrolled in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Students must have a FAFSA on file. Award receipients must attend mandatory breakfast to meet with their patron, scheduled Thursday, December 6 (there are no classes that day).
- Award: $500.00 per year. Not renewable.
- Number of Awards: Varies approximately 40 -50 awards will be given each academic year.
- Application: Completed application form, one-page personal essay, résumé, and one letters of support (from an academic professional which includes an advisor or professor. If you are an incoming freshman, a high school advisor is acceptable, if you are a transfer student, an outside University of Arizona professor or advisor is acceptable)
- Application Available: DEADLINE EXTENDED, applications now due no later than 4:00 p.m. on
