The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) has 20 units that focus on the understanding of human beings and the societies and cultures they create. The most salient issues of our society – violence, poverty, global warming, addiction, divorce, and bigotry – are studied in SBS.
With popular majors like communication, political science, and journalism, SBS is one of the largest colleges on campus. We have more than 5,400 students (majors) and grant more academic degrees than any other college at the UA.
SBS is home to some of the UA’s most prestigious programs. Anthropology, communication, geography and development, linguistics, philosophy, sociology, and Latin American history are all ranked in the top 20 in the country.
We invite you to come discover the many ways that SBS is providing ground-breaking research and a diverse, interdisciplinary education for students.
